Late or Incomplete Applications will not be considered.
Be aware of these common mistakes!
1. Incomplete Applications. Read the directions, and include all requested information. Application should be typed or very neatly printed in ink.
2. Submitting an unofficial high school transcript. Make sure that your OFFICIAL high school transcript shows your class rank and grade point average. If needed, it may be sent directly to the Selection Committee. Your counselor can assist you in obtaining this information.
3. Essay does not include all the required information or is not typewritten. Do not forget to run spellcheck. Sloppy essays with misspelled words do not make a good impression.
4. Not taking the SAT and/or ACT test. You will be disqualified without these scores.
5. Not including letters of recommendation. Make sure that you obtain letters of recommendation from two (2) teachers who have taught you in high school. At least one must be a Creative Arts Teacher. Make sure that you also include letters of recommendation from two (2) individuals who are not related to you and are not associated with your High School.
6. Procrastination. Remember your Due Date is APRIL 1st for 2025!
